I'm a winner!...and ACK!
Look what I received in the mail!
It's the goodies that I won over at paper-and-string's freebie day. It's the first Thursday of every month, so stop on over and leave a comment next Thursday and maybe, just maybe, you too could be a winner like me!
Also, I am so excited. I have been working on the quilt for the doll quilt swap, and LOOK!
It's my first ever quilt block! And, I'm sorry, but why did no one ever tell me that this was as much fun as it is? Did that sentence even make any sense? Ahh...you know what I mean. I never was interested in making quilt blocks, I don't know why, I guess I thought they were redundant and boring to make. BUT! I had so much fun putting this one together! I am excited about how this project is turning out, but also? I am a little frightened. Okay, I am very frightened. What if my swap partner hates it? What if it goes down in history as the ugliest. quilt. ever.? What then, my peoples, what then? Will I have to crawl under a rock and cry? Mayhap. Mayhap. Or? Or I could just never make a quilt again and just stick to making dollies. But then what if a dolly gets cold at night and really wants some sort of covering to sleep neath? Then what? Then what? Do I just let the poor dolly chill herself to death? Do you see? Do you see how badly this could all go? Do you see why I am frightened and wondering what have I gotten myself into?

Congrats on the freebie winnings!
Sara: I love your quilt blocks! Very pretty. I think I'm using one of those fabrics in a different colorway on the back of my DQSII quilt.
And they would never in a million years be considered ugly. For fun, here's a link to the Worst Quilt in the World "Contest."

Love the quilt block! It's very cute and wacky, just like yourself. Of course I mean that in an overtly flattering way.
Remember, confidence in your creativity! Never let your own fear get in your way!
Sew on!

It looks great! Ok, and I have to laugh at how many of us doll quilt swappers are saying, "I hope my partner doesn't hate it!" I've really enjoyed the process and I'm sure I'll love whatever I get in return just knowing how much each of us has been putting into our projects.
