Amigurumis

I've been meaning to post these for a week now. These. These are the amigurmis that Mia made for me for our dolly swap. I love them so much it pains me. They are so perfectly crafted and exactly what I was hoping to receive through this swap. They are a little shy and so have yet to tell me their names. But I am patient. Also? The weather has been kind of icky lately, so this is the best picture I have of them so far.

Go over to Mia's blog, though. She has better pictures of them there. AND! She is now blogging in English! Weee! I can finally look at the pretty pictures and read what she is saying.

Aren't they the cutest things you have ever seen? Oh! And? The little monk guy? His robe comes off! I will get a picture. I am thinking that they need to come with me on some adventures here in the USofA. K. Now I need to go have some. Have a great weekend everybody!

All around the world...

You know what I love?

Mail.

Especially when it comes from an actual person and is bursting with goodies like this gem I received as a belated birthday gift from miss Ann-Margret over at Piece of Mind:

Bdaygift1

The best part? It's from another country. Okay, that may not be the absolute best part, but I still really love that this li'l website of mine has connected me with people from all around the world! Love that!

Okay, so here is what was inside, I was seriously impressed that she packed all of this into a relatively smallish box.

Bdaygift2

Look at all of that! There's fabric and trim and buttons and a cute little bag holding thread, and lace. Wow! Thank you Ann! Thank you! I don't know if you can see it or not, but if you click on the picture it will make it bigger and then you can see the cutest little owl button! I tried to get a close up of them, but my camera wouldn't let me for some reason.

Oh! On top of all of that she also packed in a cute purse notebook with a very sweet card attached, with some kind sentiments written on the back.

Thank you again, Ann-Margret. You are, indeed, a very kind-hearted and generous woman!

You know what else I love?

The Internet.

As I said earlier, I love that through cyberspace I have been making friends from all over the world! And one of them is called Booip. Hi Booip! She lives in Sweden. If you speak Swedish, go visit her blog. If you don't speak Swedish, go visit her blog. Except just look at the pictures, that's what I do. She does some amazing work! And I am so excited because she and I have set up a personal swap. This is exactly what I needed as I have been feeling pretty uninspired as of late. But now? I am super inspired and can't wait to get started on her dolly. So. Off I go!

Here's the mail

It never fails, it makes me want to wag my tail. When it comes I want to wail..."MAAAIIILLLL!"

...

Blue's Clues?

Extra points for you if you got that. But! That's totally how I felt when I opened my mail yesterday! For inside a brown paper package was this:

Quiltpackage

And then? Inside that was this:

Tissuedots

And then? Inside THAT was THIS!

Swapquiltfront

Isn't it gorgeous? It's my doll quilt from the swap! I am so in love with this quilt I can hardly even tell you! First, the colors...one of my favorite color combos of green black and white. Then, the design? How perfect is it? So simple, yet so beautiful! And, as I told my swap partner, it instantly reminded me of a song called "Falling (Death of a Tree)" by Over the Rhine. Which is a song that holds a lot of meaning for me and the husband. So, of course, that just made me love it even more. Not to mention the details of it:

And the fabric? Did I mention the fabric? Especially the back fabric. Back fabric=Love.

Swapquiltback

And, serioulsy, how cute is this label?

What is not to love about this quilt? Thank you, Rebecca! And, please, if you all wouldn't mind, go take a peak at her site and tell her how wonderfully talented she is!
